Partners Meeting in Vilnius

Dear all,

We are happy to announce our upcoming Partners Meeting which will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania on May 31 and June 01, 2011!

Aside from seeing the lovely Lithuania, we will use the time to discuss the different field-tests that have been conducted during the last month and also prepare for the final meeting of the project. Please find below a downlodable agenda (in PDF formant).

Revised Toolkit and Field-Tests

It has been a long time since we updated our site; however, much work has been done during the last few months.

Firstly, the TARGET team has finished the second version of the Toolkit (which can be found online!). The new version is much more operational and elaborates both theoretical issues as well as practical ones. It has been a great challenge putting it all together.

Secondly, in order to ensure the applicability of the Toolkit, our teams are currently working on various ‘field tests’. Together with the policy bodies, there are meetings and workshops taking place at the different countries/regions. The feedback that is gathered during these tests will be later incorporated back into the Toolkit. Highlights of these tests will also be presented at our Partners Meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania. More on this later on.

Presentations from Paris

Dear Partners,

We have updated our Members Area with the presentations that were given during the Paris workshop. They can be accessed here.

We are currently working on revising the draft of the toolkit and as soon as new material is available we will post it on the website.

Regards

INVITATION: Open Workshop in Paris

The TARGET Consortium, a consortium consisting of 8 partners from 6 different countries within the EU Seventh Framework Programme for Research & Technology Development (“FP7”), in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Industry & Employment of France, has the pleasure to announce an open workshop to present the principles of a toolkit that is aimed at enabling a country or region to develop and to implement targeted R&D policies successfully as well as to take concrete policy making decisions. This intended toolkit will contain a structured and valorized set of guidelines & recommendations for diversifying the country’s policy mix, taking into account the unique characters of its innovation/R&D system and geopolitical reality. The workshop will discuss the importance of targeting as an instrument for coping with global competition.

The TARGET Consortium would like to invite all relevant stakeholders in order present our results to-date in general and to present the principles of our toolkit in particular. Stakeholders will include selected officials from the benchmark countries and representatives of CREST, academics in this field as well as public officials & policy makers. Through this workshop the TARGET Consortium will be able to obtain an evaluation of the principles of the toolkit and comments from stakeholders.

The workshop will be hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry & Employment of France in their offices. Registration is obligatory, but free of charge. The workshop will take place during the entire day, but lunch will be included. People interested to participate can register by sending an e-mail to Mr. Simon van Dam – svandam@agora-partners.com not later than August 26, 2010. Further details of location and agenda will be distributed shortly.

We are looking forward to see you in Paris!

Please find an invitation to the Open Workshop.

Edinburgh Presentations Now Available

Dear partners,

A new section titled “Edinburgh Conference” has been added to the Members Area. The presentations of the different countries have been uploaded to the site, and hopefully summary notes from the meetings will also become available online.

Additionally, you can find the presentation regrading the administrative aspect of the project on this page.

Hope you find this helpful.

Please find in the Deliverables page the following documents: Deliverable 2.1 Initial Set of Benchmarks, Deliverable 2.2 Fine Tuned Set of Benchmarks, Deliverable 2.3 A Set of Benchmarks to be Studied in the Consortium Countries and Deliverable 3.1 Benchmarking and Guidelines for Study.

We will update as more are available.

Country Report Template now available

Dear partners,

We’ve uploaded the Template that we will be working with on our country reports.

Please note that this template offers detailed guidelines on writing the report. However, you are not expected to answer all questions and provide information on all subjects. Some information may not be available or may not be relevant to the individual country. It is advised that you follow the structure of the template, using the main headings and layout; however, the detailed questions that are outlined in each section are meant to provide an indication of what information should be included if time, resources and availability of data permit. It is also likely that you might wish to add points or headings on issues that might not be included in the template.

The file can be downloaded from the Country Reports page of the Members Area.

Welcome to the new site!

Welcome to the new TARGET web site.

After running our old site for a while we felt it was time for a change. As the project advances and the research team evaluates the consortium countries, we will soon produce reports that should be disseminated – and for that, a new site was in order.

If you are a member of the consortium, then you should know your USERNAME and PASSWORD that will enable you to access the members area and to download reports, documents and more. Otherwise, please contact the site administrator for the details.

Also, please feel free to point our attention to necessary changes or unfortunate errors.

Good luck!
